Safe, Confident Driving Starts Here
WhiteLine Driving School Geelong
We go beyond test preparation.
Our lessons are designed to build real world confidence and help you stay calm and capable in every situation from busy intersections to freeway runs, rural backroads and night driving.
With over 15 years of professional truck driving experience and more than two million incident free kilometres behind me, I teach the practical skills, safe habits and clear mindset that real drivers use every day. You will learn how to read the road properly, manage hazards early and stay in control long after the test is over.
My goal is simple. I want you to become a safe, confident driver for life, not just someone who can tick a box on test day.

Why the 120-Hour Learner Program Matters
The 120-hour learner requirement is not about clocking hours or ticking boxes.
It exists because new P-plate drivers are over-represented in serious crashes, especially in their first few months driving solo.
That is why the myLearners program includes a FREE professional driving lesson, attended by both the learner and their main supervising driver.
The lesson is designed to build safe habits early and help families use the 120 hours properly, not just fill a logbook.
Learners need experience in more than one environment. Town driving, highways, country roads, night driving, and unfamiliar areas all matter. When the 120 hours are used properly, the difference in confidence and safety is obvious.

Mathew teaches real world driving skills built from 15 years of heavy-vehicle and dangerous goods transport experience, including fuels, explosives and industrial chemicals, all with a perfect safety record. He brings that high-standard safety mindset into every lesson, focusing on calm confidence, real road awareness and safe habits for life, not just passing the test.

I offer lessons across Geelong, Lara and nearby suburbs with pickup and drop off included. If you live in areas like Lara or Armstrong Creek and you are close to your test, I recommend 90 minute lessons so we can maximise your time in Geelong’s CBD instead of spending half the lesson driving to and from it.

Please bring your learner permit, any glasses you need for driving and suitable shoes. Sunglasses are also recommended on bright days to help reduce glare. Make sure you have the myLearners app downloaded and ready to go on your phone so we can start building your 120 hours. Apart from that, all you need is a good attitude.

No worries at all. I specialise in helping nervous learners feel calm and confident. Everyone learns differently, so we go at your pace and build skills step by step. I also work with many learners who have ADHD or autism. As a parent of two boys with those diagnoses, I understand different learning styles and how to adapt lessons to bring out your best.
I use humour, stay calm and expect mistakes — that’s why we practise in my instructor car, not yours. My job is to keep you safe and give you the space to try things without the risk of damaging anything. If you’re unsure about anything, feel free to call before your lesson.

It really depends on your confidence and how close you are to your test. Most learners book weekly lessons, and 90 minute sessions help heaps when you’re building up to test day. Once you’ve got the basics downpat, some learners switch to fortnightly or monthly check-ins so we can work on new challenges that pop up during their normal driving — things that scared them, habits that start forming or skills like parking in busy supermarket car parks. I’ll keep you accountable throughout your 120 hours and recommend a plan that suits where you’re at.

Yes, parents are welcome to sit in on lessons if they’d like to. It can be especially helpful for first-time drivers or when meeting a new instructor. I stay calm and handle mistakes safely — it’s part of the learning process and something I manage every day. If parents join in, it also gives me a chance to offer tips and help them support their learner at home while preventing bad habits from developing.

Yes. My mock tests follow the exact VicRoads criteria and scoring system. You get a realistic test experience, clear feedback and a breakdown of what to improve so you know exactly what to work on before your real test.

Yes. I offer full test day packages that include a warm up drive, use of the instructor car and support the whole way through. I sit in the passenger seat during your test and the VicRoads assessor sits in the back, so you’re not doing it alone and you have someone familiar next to you.

The Melbourne Experience Drive is a 3.5 hour session where you learn to handle real city conditions including hook turns, tram lanes, freeway merging and busy CBD traffic. It is designed to build strong hazard awareness, real world confidence and prepare you for anything you may face on test day or once you get your P plates.
